Panaji: The BJP government led by Manohar Parrrocar has changed the rules for recruiting professionals if it is unavailability from a suitable candidate without Konkani’s knowledge.
Nonetheless, the State Cabinet on Thursday rejected the recommendation of the Goa Public Service Commission to appoint a candidate without Konkani’s knowledge as the principal of two professional colleges.
As a result, the Goa College of Art and Goa College of Architecture, both in Panaji, will continue to function without full-time heads.
The source said that Parragar has made decisions so that suitable candidates can be recruited if there are no candidates who qualify and to ensure that the Institute function is not affected.
The source said that this was for the first time in GPSC history that the state government had rejected its recommendations.
“In the past 33 years, the government has not rejected GPSC recommendations,” said the source.
“In the case of a noisy of candidates in accordance with Konkani’s knowledge for posts in professional colleges, consultants in the Directorate of Health Services and very technical and scientific posts, GPSC can recommend a candidate if it is not suitable and this requirement can relax by the government, on recommendations Goa Public Service Commission, if the government argues that it is necessary or feasible to do, “then the additional secretary (personnel) Yetindra Maralkar said in the notice.
The principal post for the Goa College of Architecture has been empty since 1997 after the death of the principle later.
After that, the senior faculty of Iit-Mumbai was on the institute as the principal was responsible until he was relieved.
Since then, different officials have been appointed to the post.
At present, one of the professors in College has held back costs as principals because of August 2010.
The main post of the Goa College of Art is empty since the principle retired in November 2019.
