Sacramento, California: Caitlyn Jenner held his first press conference on Friday as Republican candidates for the Governor of California, but it was without a detailed policy discussion of 77 days after announcing that he was entering Gavin Gavin Newsom’s memory selection.
Meeting with reporters for 15 minutes, Jenner insists he is a serious candidate in the September 14 election and claimed he led the field of Republican candidates, even though there were no independent voting showing it.
“I’m here to win it,” he said.
Jenner, who won the Olympic Decathlon in 1976 and the decade later became a TV personality of reality and came out as a transgender woman, said she was better known than other GOP candidates and even newsoms.
The governor has been in the office for more than two years and previously served as Governor of Lieutenant and Mayor of San Francisco.
“I have an extraordinary advantage, obviously, because of recognition,” he said.
“To be honest with you, I’ve been a lot of races in my life, and I know how to win.
I keep working hard.” In a brief appearance before reporters, he suggested building desalination plants to produce more water for rusty conditions but did not provide specific about when or where the plant can be built.
Jenner also ignored the polling released last spring which showed he had a little public support.
However, in referring to the Berkeley IGS poll issued May 11, he misstuted that it came out in April and was done before he entered the race.
The poll was carried out on April 29 to May 5, after Jenner announced his nomination.
Jenner said he would spend the last month of the campaign with the country bus tour.
He also said he would let go of the tax return next week.
After the initial publicity blast when he announced his nomination on April 23, Jenner had faded from the spotlight of the campaign while the other GOP candidates tried to raise their profile.
They include the San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and businessman John Cox, who was defeated by Newsom in 2018.
Assembly Man Assembly Kevin Kiley entered last week’s race, and the Host of the Conservative Radio Larry Elder considered running.
The 71-year-old Jenner has anchored in his campaign to a media interview that was broadcast, who had scored a shameful attack that highlighted his inability, including recently admitted he was not too experienced in the latest newsom budget.
His nomination has brought hostile reactions from several members and groups in the LGBTQ community, who often quoted their relationship with former President Donald Trump.
Jenner supports Trump in 2016 but then criticizes the reversal of his government’s direction on the access of transgender people to a public school bathroom.
He also separated from Trump after he said transgender people would not be allowed to serve in the US military.
He said on Friday that he did not want Trump’s support and did not talk to him about the campaign.
Meanwhile Friday, lawyers for newsom were in court who were seeking decisions that would enable him to register the affiliate democratic party in voting.
He sued the Democratic Secretary he pointed out, Shirley Weber, after the newsom campaign failed to submit a suitable document to include his party.
Those who opposed change including Jenner.
Superior Court Judge Sacramento James Arguelles said he would issue a written verdict Monday after democratic officials found newsom only missed a harmful archiving deadline in February 2020 and that in the interests of voters to determine his party’s affiliates.
