Panaji: a week after the body of a 19-year-old woman was found washed on land on the Calangute beach, police, to reach the final stage of the investigation, said they had not found “evidence to show a rotten game”.
A senior officer said that they had investigated all the angles notified to them by a woman who had died.
“After investigating (all) angles, we did not find evidence to show a rotten game in this case,” he said, adding that they are now investigating other angles.
Goa police have urged people to advance if they have “fact-based leads” in this case.
“We will continue the investigation to ensure that the family is satisfied that there is no rotten game,” said the senior officer.
The woman and neighbor of the woman suspected playing in her death.
He also said that they were open to investigating any new instructions that appeared, and added that the police had conducted an investigation along the bus route along with the conductor, but not one person had given instructions.
He said that the conductor told them that because passengers now wear a mask, it’s hard to say if the woman traveled on their bus.
The police have also checked CCTV recordings from Nerul to Baga, including on the beach, for instructions.
Families and teenagers have demanded justice in this case.
His body was found on the morning of August 13 on the Calangute Beach stretch which was busy in semi-naked conditions, with his clothes not visible.
The police have also tried to find his clothes.
The police have launched an investigation of various angles, including unintentional murder, suicide and death, after general resilience.
Sister from the deceased recently sent details of the notes and calls to the police to be investigated.
Based on this, the police called several people to the Calangute police station for the investigation.
A senior officer said that even after questioning the people who had contacted the girl before his death through calls or messages, they could not draw conclusions.
The police have also checked CCTV footage from the beach hut which is located near the area where the teenage body was found but, had not found anything useful.
