Calcutta HC Looking for Covid Payment Details on August 12

Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Thursday gave the government a week to provide details of the Covid compensation application that was delayed and the reason for delays, emphasized that only said that the state would compensate the Frontline virus warrior “not enough”.
The division bench of the chairman of Judge Rajesh Bindal and Judicial Judge, heard several petitions on “wrong management of Covid”, made his observations while following in the footsteps of the Supreme Court, who recently attracted the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to the same compensation issue.
Acting CJ Bindal said: “Have you tried solving the health system (state)? Why has the Frontline Covid Warriors have been compensated until now?” The state said it would compensate for a dead frontline worker because Covid or had struggled against infection.

“How many are compensated? How many have not been compensated? What is the reason for the delay?” The bench said, looking for a reply on August 12.
Bengal is among several countries that announce a separate compensation scheme for Covid Frontline workers.
Initially, he covered health professionals and police.
Then, the state issued a health insurance scheme and death that included all those employed for Covid management.
Under the scheme, the state pays Rs 10 Lakh Ex Gratia to relatives of Covid soldiers who have died while the benefits are Rs 1 lakh for care.
During the assembly selection earlier this year, this scheme was also expanded to the center paramilitary personnel deployed in Bengal.
According to the filed petition, the guess that some applicants have not been paid the promised compensation.
