New Delhi: When firefighters struggled to load forest fires that exploded when the heat wave touched West US, but other fire had broken in California’s Butte County.
The Dixie Fire, which lights up at around 5 pm on Tuesday, has spread to 1,200 hectares, caught fire to the north of the population.
Butte County Sheriff (BCSO) office has issued an evacuation warning for the Pulga and Eastern ring area due to a raging flame.
The fire broke above the Cresta Dam off Highway 70.
The fire initially burned only two hectares of vegetation before the airstankers dropped at least 7,000 gallons retardant.
The helicopter is also used to drop water from the feathers to hold fire.
“The fire is still around 1,200 hectares, burns entirely in the plumas area far from populated areas in Butte County.
Fire airplanes including DC-10,” Butte firefight department in tweets.
The crew worked all night to slow the spread.
