Call for other budget expenses about education

Bhubaneswar: With the main part of learning that is forced to shift online after Covid, the people involved with the education system expect allocations for digital infrastructure, GST reduction in education services, more funds for additional skills and research for the innovation and additional union budget .Last, the budget allocation for the education sector is Rs 93,223 Crore against RS 99,311 Crore previous year.
This year expectations are that the budget will provide at least 10% of GDP in the education sector.
Experience feel there is a need to focus on education, skills development, better infrastructure and increase employment opportunities in this year’s budget.
“Despite high claims, the budget allocation for the education sector has never passed 6% of GDP.
I hope the trend does not continue this year.
At least 7-8% of GDP must be allocated to the education sector.
The government must extend and provide initiatives to support the environment ED technology so that infrastructure can be strengthened in this country, “said Swoyan Satyendu, Chief Operating Officer, the ODM Education Group.” This year it starts with a wave of fresh pandemic then shaken the backbone of our education system.
Learning losses require direct consideration in the Union budget, ” said Monalisa Bal, Chair of the Kiit International School.
He said the development of digital infrastructure did not accept consideration in last year’s budget and hence, it was very important to allocate sufficient funds for the development of strong digital infrastructure.
“We must ensure that no students are left behind due to financial and technology losses,” he added.
“We hope to see an increase in allocation for education from 6%, as did in 2021,” said Silpi Sahoo, Chair of the Sai International School.
