Mumbai: The Maharashtra government will decide relaxation step by step from Covid-19 Curbs, including the extension of the time of the restaurant and even opened the local train for the general public, in the next few days, said Minister of UDDHAV Thackeray said on government day.
However, Thackeray said that all of these decisions would be carefully watched and after taking into account the Covid-19 situation.
“We take the risks taken into account and do not want to make the wrong decision that will trigger another wave.
Decisions about local restaurant and train timings will also be taken in the next few days.
We talk to health officials and BMC about it,” Thackeray said during Functions held best in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray said the government was discussing allowing people who were fully vaccinated to climb local trains and also some other relaxation.
“We have discussed local train travel easing over the past few weeks.
A decision will be taken in the next 2-3 days regarding allowing people who are vaccinated to travel by local trains.
Some more relaxation will be given in the coming days but after observing a surge due to relaxation given to the first phase, “said Aaditya.
Senior official said the discussion of allowing individuals who was fully vaccinated to ride the local train was held at a cabinet meeting as well, but health officials argue that there must be a gap at least 10 days before the second phase of relaxation to see the impact of existing relaxation.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope also said no one opposed the proposal to allow people who were fully vaccinated on the local train, but discussions about how to implement it ongoing.
“The mechanism needs to be done to be checked at the train station, where cm can take more time.
He said that the right decision will be taken soon,” Tope said.
The reopening of the local train to the general public has become a political problem with the MVA government which says that BJP protested at the station because of knowing that the government would take favorable decisions and wanted to take credit for it.
