Guwahati: Head of Minister of Assam Himanta Buswa Sarma on Tuesday claimed to have made six panic calls to his partner Mizoram Zoramthanga in the previous afternoon to stop the shot where five police officers were killed and got the score of others injured.
On every occasion, the only response of Minister of Mizoram’s head is “I am very, very sorry”, he said.
“He proposed that I descend to Aizawl and sign an agreement to maintain the status quo on the border, which I agreed to.
But when I got a call in another line about shooting, I asked him to stop it,” said Chief Minister Assam.
“One day, he would realize that no one had to shoot someone’s countryman with LMG.” Sarma posted a video on Twitter which was said to show Mizoram police personnel and civilians celebrating together.
“It is very unfortunate that they rejoice after killing compatriot.
It has been shocking and upset from Assam, but Assam will protect his border at any cost.
We will follow the instructions of the Indian government,” he said.
