Ghaziabad: The thief allegedly broke through four houses at Sanjay Nagar Madhuban Bapay at the early hours of Monday and escaped with cash and valuable items as much as Rs 10 lakh.
The police said the men gave sedatives to deviate dogs in the area before robbing the house to prevent them barking and increasing the alarm.
The people penetrated three houses in K-block and one on J-Block.
Parvez Ali, whose house in K-Block is stolen, works as a driver of the Autorickshaw.
He said he used to run a boutique in Sanjay Nagar but after the pandemic struck, he closed his business due to excessive financial losses and became an automatic driver.
Ali said his two-month-old son suffered from a blood disease and was hospitalized.
“I sold my ancestral land and took loans from friends and relatives for my child’s care.
I have kept around Rs 2 lakh in cash and jewelry worth Rs 6 lakh in almirah in my room, stolen between 1 morning and 3am On Monday.

Baspal Arora, whose house was also stolen, said the thief stole Rs 15,000.
