Ludhiana: With the remaining several days for the election of the Punjab, the candidate will be a variety of facilities to reach voters in their respective constituencies.
In this effort, e-becak has been useful for candidates in improving their campaigns, especially in areas where they have not been able to visit physically.
E-rickshaws carrying pictures of candidates along with related information have worked for candidates by various parties.
The message recorded from certain candidates is played wherever this vehicle goes.
An official in the transportation department said the number of e-rickshaws in the city has improved manifold because this does not require a registration certificate and it is cheaper than a diesel-run automatic rickshaw.
He said once filled with full, e-rickshaws were almost free of charge.
In previous elections, candidates have used auto diesel-run to campaign, but this time more e-rickshaws are seen in the city involved for that purpose, he said.
The candidates claim this e-rickshaw is pollution free and proven economical too.
Candidates AAP from Ludhiana West Constitution Gurpeet Gogi said, “I am Aam Aadmi (ordinary person), so the way my campaign will also be like that.
Some of my supporters send these e-rickshaws to save while I don’t pay them anything.” He was Saying today the exam is taking place, so he doesn’t want children to be disturbed so this e-rickshaw becak is the best because this doesn’t make a sound at all.
“Moreover, e-rickshaws can enter even a solid area where the car can’t go,” he said, added that he planned to go get a permanent e-permanent rickshaw for the movement in the nearest area instead of taking out his car.
Another candidate from Ludhiana Northern Constitution Rd Sharma said, “We have to spend less on e-rickshaws because this is a cheaper campaign mode.
The campaign on wheels is always good.” He said it was not easy to cover every region physically, so they had divided the area between e-rickshaws and several other campaign vehicles so there were no areas left behind.
He claims that when this vehicle goes to a certain area, people come to know about candidates and more people will choose it.
Asking anonymity, one of the e-rickshaw drivers involved in the political campaign said, “In this way, we can get a fixed amount of candidates and instead of looking for passengers, we only visit areas like directed.” Other e-bickshaw drivers appear Quite upset with settings.
He said, “Previously, we used to get more and we worked with our own will.
We used to go home in between, but now we cannot do the same.
Workers keep supervision on us whether we go to their respective regions or not .
The only good thing about this work is we get free food to eat at the candidate’s office.
