‘Can take 30 years to clean all criminal cases in the mother

Mumbai: How long does it take to give an assessment in all serious IPC violations that are waiting before Mumbai Courts in 2020? Analysis with the non-profit Praja Foundation said it could take 30 years, assuming there was no further case to be tried.
That number arrived after taking into account the average number of values passed and withdrawal (2550 cases) in the last five years.
The striping of the trial in crime against women was very high at 98% towards the end of last year, the data with NGOs was revealed.
“High binders and low levels of confidence for serious crimes can finally create havoc in society,” said Nitai Mehta, Walizee, Praja Foundation.
For example, 85% were accused of serious IPC crimes (called class II violations) released by the court session last year.
Large shortcomings of personnel in the police department, scientific officers in the Forensic Department, the Public Prosecutor and Judges at the Session Court have been quoted as the main cause.
“All sanctions posts are empty scientific officials.
It borders the absurd that this position cannot be filled,” added Mehta.
Praja data shows that 50% of cases sent to the Forensic Department are waiting last year.
The Aditya Pratap High Court lawyer added that on several chance chargesheet submitted without a forensic report when the laboratory takes several months to prepare them.
There seems to be an urgent need to overhaul the infrastructure.
“The lower court judge is very burdened.
Every judge hears a violation of three to four police stations and sometimes, there are 200 things listed per day.
There is a need to improve the judge’s court,” Pratap said.
Experts suggest that low-level courts and districts digitize themselves on priority.
“The main need is to increase the number of courts and prosecutors.
Second, a more liberal approach is needed to bring a larger violation category under the bargaining and trial of summaries through the law,” said the former IPS officer Yadav.
Research by Praja shows the delay in police investigation too.
Chargesheets were delivered in just 21% of serious violations by the police last year.
RTI Activists Arati Chauhan said that the hole left in evidence by the researchers would eventually benefit the defendant.
The police department also has a shortage of 19% in labor in July 202.
“Every police who have completed seven years of service must be given the task of submitting Chargesheets to overcome the lack of investigating officers,” said the former DGP Praveen Dixit.
With the increasing urban population of Mumbai, it is not only important to fill the remaining posts, but also to review the number of posproned posts every year to overcome the increasing number of trials.
Police reform in the form of the implementation of police complaints authorities (PCA) is needed at the division level.
PCA can receive complaints and have the power to do questions, hearings and provide the last commandment in the form of recommendations to the state government regarding serious legal violations or misuse of police authorities.
It has been established in Maharashtra but PCAS Division is not set for the Conkan division which includes Mumbai.
The State Security Commission (SSC) which sets broad policy guidelines and evaluates the performance of the police has also not been established.
