Ottawa: Canada has obtained quite a lot of Covid-19 vaccine to autoculate every person who qualifies and managed to do it in front of the schedule, Justin Prime Minister Trudeau told reporters on Tuesday.
Aides said that Trudeau will trigger a quick election in the coming months where one of the main campaign points will be a record of the liberal government about fighting a pandemic.
Trudeau said Canada had bought more than 66 million doses.
“Canada now has enough Covid-19 vaccine delivered to vaccinate all everyone who qualifies to be shot,” Trudeau said, noting that he initially promised to reach a milestone in September.
“So, we don’t just keep the promise, we have promised a schedule,” he told a television press conference in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Canada has one of the best inoculation records in the world.
Official data shows that on July 17, 79.7% of Canada who qualified had received one shot and 57.5% had been given two.
