Canada PM Trudeau pills it with rivals Tory over the climate

Ottawa: Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday recovered him with the leader of Tory Erin O’Toole for climate change and the time of the Canadian election in the middle of a pandemic, in one of the two important debates when the election approached.
The environment was one of the top problems quoted by Canadians to the September 20 election, while Trudeau had seen his support plunging after calling the initial election.
He now traces O’Toole in a 33.7 percent poll to 31.2 percent – in the margin of error.
In a painful moment in the French debate, a boy was too young to choose, but worried about his future, asking leaders how they would handle warming.
Trudeau, who has campaigned on green recovery, touting his plan to cut carbon emissions by climbing carbon taxes gradually to get $ 170 per tonne at the end of the decade, saying it has judged the best by experts.
He accused the conservative “to go backwards” in supporting the commitment under the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent in 2005, from the level of 2005.
Liberal was “the only one with a real plan to overcome climate change,” he said , While attacking O’Toole for his promise to revive the Alberta oil sand project to the Pacific Port of Kitimat.
O’Toole against that strong economic recovery is needed to pay environmental steps, and show that the Trudeau government has missed the emission target until now.
Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the new Democratic Party left, also piled up, told Trudeau in terms of emissions, “in six years, you have the worst record of G7.” Canada is the fourth largest oil producer in the world, and this sector emissions have completed its climate efforts.
In March O’Toole found himself at odds with rankings and files after notifying the party’s convention that a strong plan to overcome climate change is needed if the conservatives have been watching Trudeau.
The reverse member vote the resolution that said “Climate change is real.” On Wednesday, the debate moderator pressed O’Toole to explain “how we can pollute fewer by consuming more” under the CO2 Conservatives’ affinity program.
Parties propose creating “low carbon savings accounts” with points obtained by expenses on gasoline, for example, to be used to buy items from the approved green list.
Previously in the Trudeau debate was forced to be a defensive squat because it had pulled a plug in a minority government to force the selection of snap.
“Now it’s not the time for the election.
Why in the middle of a pandemic, do you call the election?” O’Toole said, echoing by leaders of other political parties on the stage.
Trudeau has been accused of calling high temporary elections in polls, hoping to regain the majority at the House of Commons.
But some Canadians want the election so quickly after emerging from pandemic locking while the other Covid surge threatened to return to the office and school.
Trudeau, the son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, swept power in 2015 destroying Tories in the office for almost a decade.
But fatigue has been set, while the golden image of his gold has been tarnished by the scandal.
Fighting back, Trudeau said Canadians face important challenges in front and must decide which party is best to direct the Canadian pandemic.
“We can clearly see that there is a deep difference in our vision for this country.
This election is an opportunity for Canadians to choose,” he said.
Along with Singh, the leader of the Quebecois Block Officer Yves-Francois Blanchet and the leader of the Green Party Annamie Paul, Trudeau and O’Toole also arguing about Covid’s deaths that fled in elderly care homes, public vaccines, and indigenous reconciliation.
Second debate, in English, is scheduled for Thursday night.
