Canadian truck drivers will remain released from the Covid-19 vaccine requirements on the international border, but drivers who are not vaccinated from the United States will return from January 15, a spokesman at the Canadian border service agency said on Wednesday.
Canadian truck drivers who arrived at the international border will also remain released from the requirements of pre-arrival, arrival, and post-arrival and quarantine requirements, Rebecca Purdy, said the agency spokesman.
The decision was a policy change with the government’s decision from November, when it asked all truck drivers to vaccinate by January 15, and from the beginning this week when they asked the Canadian driver to be quarantined for 14 days.
