Kolkata: The week before the selection of by-Bhowanipore, the Bengal Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday demanded the cancellation of the Nomination of Minister of Mamata Banerjee because it did not mention it.
Five cases, previously grew up during their nomination from the Nandigram constituency were rejected by the Election Commission.
BHOWANIPORE candidate BJP Priyanka Tibhal Sajal Ghosh’s election agent on Tuesday filed a complaint with a commission with a detailed five cases listed against Banerjee.
The case returned to 2018 with Assam police based on his statement on the design of the NRC Bill.
“Candidates fail to reveal in paragraph 5 (ii) information from the criminal process delayed by it,” said the complaint.
During his nomination from Nandigram, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has raised the same set of objections to him and has mentioned five cases registered in Assam.
“Candidates remain the same.
It does not release him about allegations.
This is not a personal attack on anyone,” said Bengal spokesman BJP Samik Bhattacharya.
“This is a serious complaint and as far as I know hiding these details is a violation and call for the cancellation of nomination,” said Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh.
Arjun Singh, Bhowanipore’s constituency observer said, “Eci must look into complaining and cancel the nomination.” However, the Trinamool Congress said that the objection had not been paid by the previous commission too.
MP TMC Saugata Roy said, “BJP has bent so low so that I have no words to explain it.
Before the election, they all make high claims.
They do everything that is not going to be done by a civilized person and when trying to mislead people, The people of Bengal showed them the door.
They really failed in the assembly polls and still, they were involved in low politics.
