Cancel tender for staff, MCM told

Gurgaon: Following a complaint of irregularities in hiring labor for sanitation and other purposes by the corporation of Manesar City (MCM), urban minister of urban announcement Anil VIJ has directed the commissioner of the Civic body to cancel the direct effect.
In a command issued by the Department of Urban Local Agency, Vig directed the Head of the MMM Sharma Munish Sharma to hire a workforce through e-tenderers.
“Has come to the Minister of ULB’s notification that there have been irregularities in the tender process to hire labor for sanitation and other works,” letters sent to Sharma.
According to officials from the department, there are requirements of 900 contractual staff for sanitation at the new Manual civilian body.
MCM carried out recruitment of more than 700 staff members without following the e-tender process, after which complaints were submitted with the minister.
A senior MCM official said the recruitment was carried out temporarily because the corporation was created recently, adding that the tender would be issued according to the norm of the department for each recruitment.
“We have initiated the e-tender process.
Tenders will drift for 984 sanitation workers for Manesar in the next 15 days.
In addition, other workers will also be employed only through e-tenderers.
Because Monsoon immediately approached, we took advantage of existing agent services , “said the official.
Sources, however, said under the influence of local politicians, most contract staff were employed by civilian bodies through companies that supply labor to the corporation of Gurgaon City (MCG).
A contractor who works for the Civic body says the local MLA has forced labor companies to hire people from their villages to provide staff to city companies.
After the establishment of the minister about irregularities, MCM officials have now started the process to issue e-tenders for contractual workers.
The Manesar Corporation, which appeared in December last year, has also conducted a survey to determine the exact number of sanitation workers needed to provide comprehensive coverage throughout the manarake.
Employing contractual staff by MCG is too under the scanner because it does not follow the process.
There are 2,500 sanitation workers under the MCG, but recently signed a contract with 10 agents and increasing the amount to around 6,000.
