Cancel the water project given to Suez, Congress told CM

Coimbatore: The President of the State Congress of Mayura S Jayakumar has urged the head of Minister M K Stalin to cancel the 24×4 drinking water supply project given to French company Suez, claiming that the project would affect marginalized and poor people in the long run.
In a letter to Stalin on Saturday, the leader of the congress said entrusting a private company with a 26-year-old drinking water project would eventually burden the public, because the company tended to climb water accusations over a certain period of time over a certain period of time.
“Private companies may not operate any project for more than 10 years.” He said the RS 3,167 Crore project was given to private companies in an opaque manner, raising suspicion.
“People may get a water connection cut off for several days of delay in paying water fees.
This project will only benefit the rich people in the long run, while placing poor people in a difficult situation.
Drinking water supply must only be managed by the government or The institutions, “Jayakumar said while urging the Civic’s body to immediately cancel the agreement with Suez.
It should be noted that DMK hard opposed the project and held several projects against it when it was the opposition.
However, the DMK made U-turns recently with the Minister of Administration K.
Nehru clarified that the project would not be removed.
