Ahmedabad: A security guard deployed on the banks of the river under the Dadhichi Bridge on Saturday found a female fetus about six months floating in the Sabarmati River.
Police Sabarmati Riverfront (East) registered a case of leaving a baby who led to death against unknown people and began an investigation.
Inspector Niraj Patel Police Sabarmati Riverfront (East) said that the fetus might be thrown into the drain and carried by water to the river.
He said that the police had taken DNA samples from the fetus and had begun investigated.
The police suspect that the fetus may have been canceled because it is a daughter.
The police took a quick action in this case because they were told that a dead baby girl was found in the river and was initially suspicious she was probably the girl who was kidnapped from the civilian syola on August 2, police personnel had found a new born girl sunk in the Sabarmati River.
