Ludhiana: The Indian Election Commission will keep the cover close to the cost of the candidate poll fighting for the election of the assembly of Punjab.
A candidate can spend a maximum RS 40 lakh on his campaign.
Political parties have been told about it.
It was declared during the meeting, led by District Election Officer – Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, which was held here on Sundays where representatives of various political parties participated and convinced cooperation of advertising, vehicles and other activities needed for elections.
“Therefore, they must open a shared bank or post account on their behalf or with their election agent a day before submitting a nominated newspaper.
Candidates will be charged all election fees from this account.
Payments to 10,000 Rs can be done in cash and more than this amount must be done by check.
