Candidates for rustic polls in 2 facial distts of the ax selector list

Religious: Harapan Jayanti Kanhar to become Sarpanch from R Nuagaon Panchayat under the Khajuripad Block in Kandhamal District for the second time has run after he found that his name was lost from the voter list.
Sunita Mallick, a candidate for Sarpanch, Mohana Panchayat in the Gajapati District, cannot submit a nomination because her name is missing from the voter list.
Dauda Gamanga from Ludupanga in the Gajapati District who wants to compete for the position of members of Samiti from Panchayat, also fulfills a similar fate.
The hope of several candidates in Kandhamal and Gajapati Regency who wants to compete for different posts in the election of the Three Panchayat which will be held next month has been destroyed because their names along with some of their field voters are missing from the voter list.
Angry in their behalf of the voter list, residents of Khajuripada Village under Karchabadi Panchayat in the Gajapati District on Friday locked the Pancrayat office.
On Thursday, several residents of Mohana Village also locked the Pancrayat office in protesting the same problem.
“With the demand for villagers, I will submit nominated letters as Sarpanch candidates from R Nuagaon Panchayat.
But I was surprised that my name was not in the voter list,” Jayanti said, former Sarpana.
“The names of more than 100 people at R Nuagaon Panchayat have been removed from the voter list.
We have written a letter to the Kandhamal collector to include our names so we can participate in Panthayat elections,” said members of other members in the same Pancrayat.
“We have been running our franchise in the last assembly and selection of Lok Sabha.
We were very surprised that our name was lost from the latest voter list.
The names of more than 100 voters in at least five wards are missing from the list,” Sunita said.
Tehsildar (Mohana) Kishore Das said, “We have told the demonstrators to write to the SEC (state selection commission) through the district collector to add their names.
The Sec will take the final decision.
After convincing them, they call their agitation.”
