Nagpur: The theft of the sandalwood tree from the Zonal DCP bungalow Noorul Hasan was conscious on Tuesday it might show more incidents like that because the racket involving wood at high prices is known to be alive in the rainy season.
Sandalwood stolen from the city was sent to Gujarat and Rajasthan where there was a high demand for it.
According to people in, thieves from certain communities that are mostly illegal activities, are known to have skills in identifying sandalwood trees and cutting them in a short time.
Wearing ‘commandos’ like clothes, they did reception during the day and strike at night between 1.30 in the morning and 4 in the morning.
Last year, around 10 gang members were nabbed and around 60kg-70kg Sandana stolen was restored after the police detected four cases like that.

Senior Vacho Inspector from the conscious police station said his team had found potential instructions and tended to be zero on the gang immediately.
“We are working on some information.
Immediately, we can catch the gang,” he said.
