Kolkata: A 16-year-old girl, Susmita Singh, ended her life by consuming pesticides at her home in the Picnic Garden Road in Kasba around 11am on Monday.
There were no suicide records found but allegedly that his father left them and the family inability to buy his books for financial reasons had influenced him emotionally.
Susmita lived with her mother (45) and a brother (22) after his father left them nine years ago.
Their mother runs a roadside restaurant and her sister is forced out of the study to work as a driver to meet needs.
Around 10am, Monday, Mrs.
Susmita went to the restaurant, which was located nearby.
When he returned home about an hour later, he found Susmita lying on the floor, unconscious and foamy in her mouth, police said.
“The neighbors and relatives took him to the CNMC hospital, where he died around 1:30 a.m.,” said DC (SSD) Rashid Munir Khan.
It was found that the girl was serious about her studies but could not buy books because of the financial crisis.
“There were no suicide notes found but his family said he had been depressed.
Also, he was attached to his father and became insecure in his absence,” Khan said.
In another incident, Hajra Pramanik, who was treated at a medical of college and hospital on September 4 after he tried to end life by hanging, die on Sunday.
“Pramanik, who runs a barber shop in Jadavpur East, is an alcoholist A computer engineer from Patna, who was hired with the top IT company in the V Sector, was also found dead by suicide.
Vikas Kumar Singh’s death was found after his uncle, who lived near his rented apartment in Jadavpur, could not contact him by telephone and visited his place to examine him, police said.
