Krishnagiri: Debt was ridden, four members of the suicide family at their residence near Hosur on Friday morning.
Mathigiri police identified the deceased like J Mohan, 40, his wife M Ramya, 33, daughter M Hanmaya, 8, and Bunda J Vasanthakumari.
They live in the Swarnabhoomi layout near Mathigiri.
A police officer said Mohan was involved in online trading, which was running with a big loss.
“He has borrowed Lakh Rupees from the banking and non-banking and various people.
And he is not in the financial position to pay them.
So, he, along with other family members, decided to commit suicide.” On Thursday night, the officer said.
, Mohan seems to have given food mixed with poisons to his wife, daughter, and mother, before being limply died by covering his head with a polythene cover.
“They have switched on television before committing suicide.” On Friday morning, the neighbors heard the voice of the television but did not see family members coming out of the house.
“Some of them knocked on the door of the house and there was no response.
They told the Mathigiri police.” The officer said Vasanthakumari was found dead in the bedroom on the ground floor of the house, while the body of Ramya and his hannya was found a bedroom on the first floor, where Mohan’s body too Found.
The body was sent to a government hospital in Hosur for postmortem.
Deputy Inspector of the Murali Police (Hosur Sub-Division) of Chitaras Sub-Inspector and other police personnel visited the house.
“Mohan has left a suicide note.
He said he was in deep debt and therefore took this extreme step along with his family members,” the officer said.
Police Mathigiri has registered a case below section 174 of the criminal procedure code (CRPC) and further investigation.
