Car Riding Flames near Collectorate

Coimbationy: A 75-year-old retired government has a narrow escape when his car caught fire in front of Collectoran on Monday.R Nanjappan from Siddhapudur, a former court staff, has visited the district treasury office in his car along with a relative.
After finishing the work, Nanjappan started the car and came out of the main gate of Collectoran when he saw the smoke billowing from under the hood.
When he stopped the vehicle and managed to get out of the car with the relative, the fire had spread along his body.
Remloyee from Collectoran brings a fire extinguisher and tries to extinguish the fire.
Meanwhile, the personnel from the South Fire Station Coimbatore reached a point, spraying water on the vehicle and removing it in a few minutes.
Ras police have registered a case.
Introductory investigation revealed that fire was caused by a short circuit, said a police officer.
