Thiruvananthapuram: The state has announced a comprehensive and comprehensive caravan tourism policy that promises tourists a safe, customized and closest travel experience.
“This marks a paradigm shift for almost three decades after the state makes it great with tourism houses that provide a unique experience for visitors and position the state as the main global goal,” said PA tourism Minister Mohamed Riyas, revealing the policy of attractive investment subsidies for caravan operators.
He said that like other successful tourism products from the country launched since the 1990s, caravan tourism is also expected to be developed in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode with private investors, tour operators and local communities become main stakeholders, he said.
The investment subsidy will be given to the caravan operator, the details will be announced soon, he added.
Two main components of the new concept include a trailer tour and caravan park.
While the first involving vehicles built specifically for travel, free time, the caravan park is a designated place to park the vehicle and allow visitors to spend the night or one day or station for a long time to explore the destination.
Karavan tourism is expected to promote tourism activities responsible for sustainable growth and for the benefit of local communities, promoting environmentally friendly practices and markets for local products.
“Going with the default strength of the inherent state and culture of tourism friendly, caravan tourism has a big scope for the country.
In addition to offering refreshing experience for tourists, local communities stand to get substantially by allowing them to show off their culture and products before the visitors, “Said Tourism Director VR Krishna Teja.
There will be two types of caravans.
In one model, two guests will be accommodated, while the other is for a family of four members.
Tourism caravans will have all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay like a sofa-cum-bed, kitchenette with a fridge and microwave oven, dining table, toilet booth, partition behind the driver, air conditioner, internet connectivity, audio-video facilities, Charging system and GPS.
Environmentally friendly is the main feature of caravan tourism, preferably vehicles that match Bharat VI will be pressed into the service.
Ensure the full security of guests, there will be a real monitoring of real-time caravans.
Stupid approval mechanism is also applied for approval for the operation of the caravan based on the procedure set by the motor vehicle department.
The caravan park must be developed in the private sector, the public sector or in the joint sector.
The garden configuration will vary from location to location.
The caravan park will be a truly safe and safe zone that offers a hassle-free environment and stress free for tourists, protected with necessary features such as compound walls, adequate security and safety settings, patrol cameras and supervision.
The park authority will coordinate with local authorities and medical companies if medical emergencies occur.
Land is required at least 50 cents for parks with at least five parking bays.
