Cargil school is allowed to reopen for class 6-8

Leh: Ladakh reported seven new Covid-19 cases, took the total infection calculation to 20,551, said officials on Monday, even when the district cargil administration allowed school to reopen from September 1 to 8.
The Union region has registered 207 deaths related to Covid – 149 in Leh and 58 in Cargil – since last year’s pandemic outbreak.
As many as 20,273 patients have recovered until now.

The new positive case includes five in Leh and two in Cargil.
Eight patients were repatriated after recovering from disease, reducing active cases in the region to 71 – 51 in Leh and 20 in Cargil, the official said.

Meanwhile, Cargil District Judge Santosh Sukhadeve ordered the reopening of schools for grades 6 to 8 with the effects of September 1 – almost a month after they reopened in Ladakh for higher classes including standard 9 and on it.
In a command issued this morning, Sukhadeve, who is also the chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, said the decision to reopen the classes from the 6 to 8 was taken considering the variety of representations received by his office and the Covid-19 situation which was increased in the region.
However, he said the Head of the Institute would ensure that Covid guidelines issued by the Administration and Education Chief Education Officers were followed in letters and spirits.
“Every violation of this order must invite action below Section 188 IPC, ACT Disaster Management 2005 and epidemic disease acting 1897,” he warned.
