Jaipur: Gargil Vijay Diawas was observed at all Military Stations Sapta Shakti on July 26 to commemorate the victory of the Indian Army over Pakistan during the Vijay operation in the Cargil War in 1999.

More than 500 Indian soldiers lost their lives and many were injured in the war that saw the beginning when a patrol party led by captain Saurabh Kalia was arrested by enemy forces and tortured for days.

Many others from Rajasthan were also killed in the action in the war which lasted more than two months.
Chairman of the Minister of Ashok Gehlot was also taken to social media to remember the soldiers who put their lives during the war and wrote on Twitter, “in the cargil vijay dijwas, humble tribute to our brave, which makes the highest sacrifice in every inch of the Indian region.

Their sacrifice could never be forgotten.
