Bengaluru: in front of the third wave of Covid-19 infection – 19 possible, which some experts say they can regard to the last quarter of the calendar year, the state government has planned to improve facilities in government hospitals throughout the state to overcome the possibility of a surge in the case.
“Although some experts believe the third wave will not turn off as the second, we do not take risks,” said KV Trilok Chandra, Commissioner of State Health.
“We are preparing the worst by doubling the number of beds and adding oxygen capacity.” The government plans to add 3,249 additional ICU beds and 8,315 proxyed beds at the District Hospital and Taluk.
With lessons from the second wave, the health authority plans to increase the availability of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) at the District Hospital and Taluk to avoid incidents such as those that occur in Chamarajanagar, where 24 people reported died of lack of oxygen.
“We have decided to increase oxygen capacity with 1,123 kilo liters in the state.
We are preparing a new oxygen generation factory and obtaining oxygen cylinders and concentrators to avoid deficiencies,” Chandra said.
The government also focuses on storing drugs and essential equipment such as the bipap and x-ray machines.
“The department will also hire a pediatrics and support staff to run the center,” said a senior health worker.
Experts have suggested that the third wave can affect children more and therefore the country contains facilities to treat them under 18 years.
“About 3,000 extra beds for children will be added and the children’s friendly environment is being made,” officials said.
“The number of pediatric ventilators will also increase to 1,000.
The focus will also increase 3ts – testing, tracking, and treatment.
Because of the supply of drugs such as remedies and todilizumab erratically during the second wave, we have decided to get all important drugs in advance.” The government has recruited nearly 1,700 doctors and more than 500 nurses to ensure adequate staff.
“Because some ventilators are damaged, we focus on improving them,” said a senior doctor from the Ministry of Medical Education.
Health experts say that if people do not adhere to safety protocols such as wearing masks and ensuring social distance, the third wave will definitely fall faster than later.
“Given the lack of vaccines other than people’s satisfaction after opening 3.0, the third wave might arrive in August or September,” said Dr.
