Spanish coach Luis Enrique remembers Dani Carvajal to his troops on Friday for the remaining World Cup qualifiers against Greece and Sweden, the first Real Madrid player he has chosen since March.
Carvajal’s right back missed the majority of last season because of a series of injuries, only produced 15 appearances in all competitions, and also brought together the Spanish European Championship campaign.
Luis Enrique has chosen no player from 13 times European Real Madrid champions in his last three teams, including in the euro where Spain reached the semi-finals.
Spain was second in their World Cup qualifying group, two points behind Sweden and needed a victory in their last two matches to guarantee the top position and place in the final tournament in Qatar.
Spain faced Greece on November 11 before accommodating Sweden three days later.
