Mangaluru: The third additional district session court on Thursday sentenced Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) officer in connection with cases related to disproportional assets registered by Lokayukta.
The court held assistant city planning officers (ATPO) S E Manjunatha Swamy (50) guilty after finding it had disproportionate assets with known sources of income.
He was sentenced to five years of simple prison and with a penalty of Rs 35 Lakh.
By default, he must undergo a simple prison sentence for another year.
Police Mangaluru Lokayukta has raided and found disproportional assets from Manjunatha Swamy in 2007.
