Last year, a sub-committee suffered by the Punjab government had charged Sodhi and his family for taking a double compensation for a sheet of land obtained by the state government.
The probe has revealed that land in the village of Attar Mohki was acquired by the state government in 1962 and RS 7,384 compensation was paid to the family at that time.
The land was recovered by the State in 2012 and compensates RS1.83 Crore was paid to the family in 2014 during the SAD-BJP coalition government.
The Punjab government also pursued a case at the Supreme Court after seeking a review of the initial order of 2019 by the Puncak Court who had provided assistance to the Sodhi family.
The top court has issued a notification to the family in the first week of last May.
Increasing the problem of ‘multiple compensation,’ Jakhar in his letters highlighting this problem urging the party’s high command and Chair of the Captain Amarinder Singh to eliminate Sodhi from the cabinet.
It was studied that Jakhar also urged the captain to start a criminal process against Sodhi because the civil suit for the recovery of compensation was taken twice not enough.
