Mumbai: The branch of the city crime, looking for further custody from a police officer and his wife who was accused of killing Solelakan-based chili traders, said on Thursday that they had recovered weapons of murder from Worlie’s murder, but without a SIM card, and collecting blood samples From a police house at the Worreli Police Quarters.
The 37th Metropolitan Judge then sent a partner for the next police detention until October 22.
On Sunday, the Branch Branch of Unit 4 claimed to have solved the murder of Arjun Jagdale, whose headless body was found outside the CGST quarter in Antop Hill last month, with the arrest of Constable Shivshankar Gaikwad (40) and Monali (35).
The couple was ordered for murder and destruction of evidence under the Indian punishment code.
Shivshankar was a police driver for ACP from the Division of Sion.
Senior Inspector Unit 4 Indrajit said there were two violations registered against Shivshankar – cases of sexual violations at the Worli and First Police Station related to Mahar at the Second Police Office in Solapur.
The initial investigation showed that Monali, which also came from Solapur, was having an affair with Jagdale and her husband often fought with him for this issue.
Monali allegedly told the police that Shivshankar, with the pretext of discussing this issue, called Jagdale to Mumbai.
He said on September 29 at night, Shivshankar served Jagdale liquor and when he was drunk, stabbed him with a knife.
He then cut the body in several parts, packed it in a plastic bag, drove to the antop hill sector 7 in his car and threw the bag behind the building outside the CGST Quarters.
Police said Shivshankar also tried to burn the body using sanitiser.
“Shivshankar tries to destroy proof, like after throwing away the body part of Jagdale, he replaces the seat cover and his car’s foot mat and also sends it to wash,” said an officer.
In court, Monali lawyer, Ajay Dubey, argued that he did not play any role in evil and no need to be detained further and he would be returned to custody of the judiciary.
The investigative officer also told the judge that Shivshankar did not work with investigations and they had searched for two places in the Mankhurd Dumping Ground where he claimed to have thrown out of Jagdale’s head, but in vain.
The police have also involved scavengers who have searched their heads at Dump Yard for three days.
