Patna: The Chairman of the Minister of Nitish Kumar on Saturday urged the center to reconsider his decision there was no enumeration other than SCS and STS in the ten-annual census.
Repeating his request for caste-based census in the country, Nitish said the Bihar Assembly unanimously passed the resolution on February 18, 2019 and again on February 27, 2020, looking for a wise population calculation.
He said the two resolutions were sent to the center with a request to hold a wise enumeration.
“I will once again ask the center to hold a caste census.
The caste-wise census must be done at least once.
If we know the exact amount of various castees, we can work towards their improvement,” Nithish told Mediodperson on the sidelines of the transportation function here , Nitish also shows that the SMA-Economic Caste Census (SECC) was carried out in the country after 2010.
“When SCC was not done correctly, there were no significant results that came out from it.
The SCC report was prepared in 2013, but was never published or put in Public domain.
Caste-based census must be done once so people can know the population of poor families (except SC / ST).
After the caste-based census is done, people and planners will know the accurate population of certain casts, “CM said.
