Haridwar: The third person from Roshnabad Village in Haridwar was arrested on Saturday for allegedly passing the Casteist Slurs on the family of Hockey Vandana Katariya.
Sumit Chauhan, 22, was picked up from his house by Haridwar police.
A team of four policemen was also deployed at Olmpian’s House on Friday after the family demanded security allegations from the dominant caste members.
Captain Hockey Captain Rani Rampal condemned “embarrassing acts”, urging people to “ride on the cashier”.
“Our religion is different, we come from various parts of the country but when we play, we play for flags India,” he said.
The captain of the Hoki Rani team rampal said the lesson must be learned to end such harassment “if India will become a sports country”.
Previously, two men suspected of harassing the Katariya family were arrested and produced before the court.
The three have been ordered under IPC and ACT SC / ST.
Sumit Chauhan, Ankur Pal and his brother Vijay Pal – a hockey player who has represented Uttarakhand at the national level – has broken the cracker, doing dance and mocking the family of the catariya after the women’s hockey team was lost in the semi-finals.
They lost to having “too many Dalit players,” said the men allegedly.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Cm Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke with Katariya on Saturday and congratulated him.
“We are proud of his achievements.
He is an inspiration, especially for women,” he said.
The state has announced the RS 25 lakh cash award for Katariya.
In addition, he will be respected with Tilu Rauteli Award, Uttarakhand’s highest recognition for women.
