Kanpur: People created a commotion at the suspicion of slaughter when the remains of a cow were found on the roadside in Chak Ratpur near the Narmau area with the limit of the Kalyanpur police station on Monday.
The police calmed the people by convincing them to launch investigations and strict actions against the culprit.
Police scan CCTV recordings installed around the place and question the local population.
The police said that a group of villagers, while they went to the nearest field, saw the remnants of a cow near the Ratanpur Road chak on Saturday morning.
Then, they raised the following alarm, which more villagers from the nearest area gathered in place and created a commotion that demanded immediate arrest and strict actions against criminals involved in the action.
But ACP Kalyanpur Dinesh Kumar Shukla said that a case below 3, 5 and 8 prevention of slaught and 504 laws and 506 IPC had been registered at the Kalyanpur police station against unknown people, regarding the incident.
None of the defendants had been arrested so far.
