Kanpur: An livestock smuggler accused of slaughtering injured cows and arrested along with two servants after a meeting with police in the district of Fatehpur on Monday night.
Circle Officer (CO) Gayadutt Mishra said that Javed Nat, a resident of Pacchesa Majre Khaira in Khaga, who was injured at the meeting, was a famous livestock smuggler.
The two assistants of his arrest had been identified as Shamim and Shanu.
The police also restored the 12 bore gun and live cartridges, in addition to bicycles from injured defendants, while the police recovered 315 bore pistols, a Live cartridge and shell from his colleague Shamim.
There are serious cases listed in them at several district police stations including Dhata.
They are in runaway for a long time.
The police supervisor who would note about the meeting rushed to the site and investigated all problems.
Acting on the tip, the police on Monday night put a trap in the Kalyananpur Kachrauli forest under the police station Kidaga to arrest Javed, and his helpers, they opened fire on the police team, said CO.
