CBI Court Levies One of the steepish fines at 10CR in business people, gave him 6-years of RI

Mumbai: Special CBI Court on Monday which was put in down one of the highest fines so far – Rs 10.2 Crore – in a businessman, who is convicted in the 2003 Scam scheme associated with the Hight Pass Book Scheme (DEPB).
Previously, it sentenced the 62-year-old Road Peddar businessman to become a tight sentence of six years.
DEFB is an export incentive scheme.
The main defendant Krishan Kumar Gupta and the others have committed rs 2 crore fraud.
Su Wadgaonkar Special Judge was also punished and Sudhir B Mandal, accused of helping Gupta, up to three years in prison and enforced a fine of Rs 2 Lakh to him.
The other two, separating Bank of India’s employees Vasant M Parkhe, then the cashier was responsible, and Sunil B Jadhav, the Kasir employee later, was sentenced to a one-year imprisonment and each fined Rs 1 Lakh.
Duo has been removed from the service in 2002.
Another defendant was in his 60s.
Economic Violations of the CBI Wing (EOW) Special Prosecutor Jitendra Kumar Sharma quoted 51 witnesses to seek penalties on the defendant.
All the defendants came out with a guarantee.
In March 2003, the CBI (EOW) has registered FIR under the relevant parts of the IPC and the prevention of corruption laws based on 11 fictitious, gupta, mandal and customs, Mumbai, and Bank of India, and Bank of India officials, Cotton exchange branch.
Allegedly Gupta and Mandal, along with customs and bank officials, signed a criminal conspiracy, which is an object to deceive the government by dishonestly claiming “customs weaknesses” from the customs department by sending forged export documents.
The Investigation Agency further accused 11 fictitious companies used to prepare false export documents in their names and by sending these documents to the customs department, 26 customs casting reduced to more than RS 2 Crore obtained.
