New Delhi: The CBI on Tuesday filed its first bill in a case related to the arrest of naval officers who handled an additional team project that was sensitive because it allegedly leaked confidential information as a refund of money, officials said.
In the load sheet it was put forward before the CBI judge specifically at Rouse Avenue Court, CBI posted six people including two naval commanders who presented – one of them named Ajeet Kumar Pandey, a pension to commodore Randeep Singh, other commanders Ranking SJ Singh worked for ship companies Selam Korea, Director of Private Company and Alleged Hawala Operators.
The CBI has captured two retirees and during the search, the agency restored Rs 2 Crore from the residence of one of them.
Agency has ordered six individuals for allegations of criminal conspiracies under the Criminal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act, they said.
It is suspected that naval officers who serve allegedly leaked confidential information to retired officers in return for money profits.
After getting information, the CBI has carried out an attack in September where the two retirees were arrested, the official said.
The source said further investigation continued and the role of several foreign nationals was under the scanner.
Anti-corruption unit from agency, which handles sensitive corruption cases and high profiles, is assigned to explore information leaks after the operation launched, they said.
This unit has questioned several other officers and former servicens who regularly come into contact with officers arrested and retired personnel, they said.
CBI is carrying out a digital product forensic analysis used by officers to understand whether the information falls into the hands of people with personal interests, they said.
“Investigations are related to alleged information on administrative and commercial leaks that with some unauthorized personnel come and are being investigated by the right government institutions,” Navy said in a statement.
Investigation by agency with the complete support of the Navy is underway, he said.
Internal demand by the Navy is also ongoing, he added.
