Bhubaneswar: A CBI attack in the Dhenkanal Odisha district, as part of their national crackdown on the people involved in abuse and sexual exploitation of children online, turned ugly with family members of the defendants and villagers allegedly attacked and destroyed officers on Tuesday.
Tensions ran a few hours after the CBI raided Jubuli’s house in the city of Dhenkanal on charges of exploiting children sexually on social media.
Claiming nayak as innocent, neighbors, including many women, all armed with sticks and wooden boards, stated and defiled the CBI officers.
The arrest was not aware of an unpleasant and unprecedented situation, CBI officers told the local Dhenkanal city police for assistance.
Local police rushed to the place and calmed the horde who was harmed.
Dhenkanal Police Inspector K Siva Subramanani confirmed the liaison between the local residents and the CBI Irate team.
“Immediately after receiving the SOS from the CBI, our personnel reached the place and brought the situation under control.
Some people did not allow the CBI to release their duties.
The current controlled situation,” Subramani, who will join the CBI in the Central Deputation, told TI.
The last state government last month told the removal of Subramanani in the CBI on representatives.
Until archiving reports, no complaints submitted by the CBI with the local police.
“We have not received complaints from CBI officers so far,” Subramani said.
