Nagpur: CBSE on Wednesday became the first board in the country to launch a comprehensive career guide portal for school students (www.cbsecareerereider.com).
The online portal is specifically about guidance and career counseling comes a day after the STD X declaration results include information about various career, courses, scholarships and exams for students from class IX-XII.
Manoj Ahuja, Chairman of the CBSE said, “CBSE has brought up a group of consultative experts belonging to the industry, academics and the government to prepare future roadmaps.
Likewise, CBSE has collaborated with UNICEF and technical partners trusted idreamcareer private limited to prepare a dynamic online system career guidance and counseling.
“Speaking at the launch of the portal, Terry Durnian, the head of education, UNICEF India, said,” Pandemic has raised concern among millions of young people about their livelihoods and skills in the future needed to develop in the century 21.
UNICEF has supported a career guidance portal in several countries to empower young people and young people to provide educational choices and informed work that support their social, financial and emotional welfare.
“Furthermore Durnian said that UNICEF was very happy with the secondary education center board with Partnership Idreamcareer technical to develop a CBSE career portal “to facilitate students in India to have access to career information, regardless of their school affiliates”.
This portal is linked to the main portal of CBSE.
All CBSE school students will be able to register on the portal with their details and access personalized career dashboards that will also be accessible to the teacher and administrator.
Two teachers / counselors per school will be trained in the portal through a digital training session and are given a personal counselor’s dashboard to access the entire career curriculum and use it to guide students to their career questions.
Additional self-playing self-playing online training courses will be offered to the teacher / advisor on the dashboard itself where they can do all courses and get certification as a career counselor (post clearing online valuation for various modules).
This course, at present, is being developed with UNICEF support in the next few months.
