CBSE schools in Chennai use NEET, JEE material to prepare students

Chennai: CBSE schools in this city even use NEET and JEE paper questions to help class X and XII students prepare for their first main exam, which will only have multiple choice questions.
Under the new scheme, the term-1 will end with an objective type 90 minutes and 2 terms with a subjective test of 120 minutes.
The candidate sign will be calculated based on performance in both conditions.
Most of the school has started a revised test and based on their performance is teaching students ways to navigate the exam.

“Schools give us shortcuts and strategies to complete questions in a short time,” he said.
Deepta, a class XII Commerce student, said that his school provided many materials for students to prepare for the exam.
“The teacher asks us to prepare for the test based on NCERT textbooks and explain the concept,” he said.
An objective type question is easier for the theory subjects.
For accounting and mathematics, time management is a problem, he added.
Nithin, class X students, said time management is a challenge in the MCQ exam.
“Comprehensive students with concepts can score high.
This MCQ pattern will help students prepare for competitive exams,” he said.
R Sivasankari, a physics teacher in the city school, told Ace MCQ test students need to have a conceptual understanding of the topic and must be aware of the implementation of the concept too.
“In descriptive tests, even the wrong answer with the right steps or part of the answer will produce a sign.
But, in the MCQ test, wrong or correct,” he said.
V Gowrilakshmi, Chinmaya Principal Vidyalaya in Anna Nagar, said, “This is a challenge for students.
They must know how to get rid of the wrong answers.
We concentrate on practical papers.”
SBoa School and Junior College at Anna Nagar set up the In-House revised book by taking multiple choice questions from NCERT textbooks.
“We provide assignments based on MCQ pattern questions after completing each lesson.
Our teacher also asks students to refer to the letter of NEET and JEE questions to get used to the paper question type,” said K Manoharan.
“Students must be comprehensive with the concept.
We have made the reference points of NEET and JEE papers to prepare multiple choice questions,” N Vijayan, Senior Principal, Zion and Alwin Groups.
