Nagpur: More than 1.87 Lakh riders were arrested at 3,600 CCTV cameras installed in various places throughout the city for violating last year’s traffic rules.
Traffic police punish them and send e-challans to their address.
The camera found the accounting cotton market zone for the number of highest traffic violations in 2021.

By 2020, 7,37,746 riders were punished while in 2019, the figure was 4.55,402.
The conscious traffic zone consists of Katol Road, Gittikhadan, conscious, and the second ranking mancapure in terms of traffic violations caught on CCTV cameras.
Here, with the help of the City Smart project, as many as 20,995 riders stuck for various traffic violations.
On the road under Sakkardara, MIDC and Indora, CCTV cameras each recorded 20,226 and 20,188 offenders and 2,012 Nagpurian violated traffic rules.
Of the total 1.87 lakh offenders, two-wheeled riders without helmets contributed the largest discount at 1.40 lakh.
Traffic police have issued e-challans to 25,137 riders.
Likewise, many four-wheeled driving drivers without safety belts are also among violators at 6,815.
Although the high-tech mechanism includes the installation of CCTV cameras, traffic activists expressed concern over the increase in violations in the city.
Large investment in technology will not produce results if drivers are not disciplined and encourage irresponsibility, activists said.
