New Delhi: Tri-Service Investigation Court has ruled out the mechanical failure behind the helicopter crash on December 8 which killed the Indian Indian Defense Chief of India Bipin Rawat.
In the investigation report about the accident, the panel said that the accident was the result of entering the clouds due to changes in unexpected weather conditions.
This caused “spatial disorientation from pilots which resulted in controlled flights to Medan.” Reports on preliminary findings also ruled out sabotage or negligence as the cause of the accident.
The Air Force in a formal statement said that the panel investigated CRASH CHOPPER MI-17 V5 analyzed flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders, and also questioned all available witnesses to determine the most likely causes of accidents.
It also made certain recommendations that were being reviewed, the IAF statement said.
General Rumpat, along with his wife and 12 others, including the crew 4, was on board, helicopters who took off from the tendril air base in Tamil Nadu for defense service staff, Wellington, where wasted to give lectures.
But the helicopter fell about 10 km from its purpose in a hilly area in a cloudy condition.
All 14 on board loses their lives.
