Celebrate VOC’s birthday for 1 year: PMK to the country, center

Coimbatore: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) Ramadoss on Sunday urged the state government to celebrate a 150-year anniversary of Freight Fighter VO Chidarrarar throughout the year.
In a statement, Ramadoss noted that the 190-year-old commemoration of Vo Chidambarambillai fell on September 5.

He stated that the VOC was captured by England because he challenged their strength and submitted to severe difficulties in the coimbatore prison.
“This is the time to pay respect to Him and recognize it.
Starting September 5, the state and central government must celebrate the 150th birthday with events throughout the year planned until September 5, 2022, ” he said.
The event must highlight his struggle against England, Sacrifice, and harassment he faces in prison, said Ramadoss.
His life story must be included as a lesson in schools and college textbooks throughout the country, he said.
