Thane: cellphones along with cable bundles, adhesives and electric circuit boards seen in the Adharwadi district prison, the police were informed.
According to Khadak police who registered a case in the incident reported last Friday, a prison staff, during a routine examination of the place, suspecting several contraband items had sneaked into the barracks after a surprise examination carried out after warning senior officials.
To horror them, the prison staff saw cellphones, electrical cables, steel pins and circuit boards along with the adhesive package filled in the pickled pickled jars between two water drums on the toilet in one of the barracks.
The inmates, when asked, said they were not aware of the same thing, police officials said.
The police said they were investigating how these items were usually prohibited in the barracks, making their way inside after the case had been registered with unknown people.
