Palackad: Industrial Minister P Rajeeve said that two cement production units will begin in the state to double the production of cement in two more years.
“Now, six lakh tons of cement are produced in the state every month.
It will double to 12 lakh tons of monthly,” he said.
Speaking with reporters after visiting Kanjikode Kinfra Park and Malabar Cements Limited here on Monday, Rajeeve said the blending unit at Kochi Port Trust and the milling unit in Kinfra, Mustannur in Kannur will begin.
The production of these two cement units will begin within 24 months.
In the second stage, more grinding cement units will begin.
Rajeeve said that three mini food parks will also begin in the state because some applications are delayed from entrepreneurs.
Land and buildings in Mega Food Park in Kanjikode and Cherthala are allocated for entrepreneurs.
Rajeeve said that mini food parks will be considered in the tribal area of ​​attapadi.
He has directed the Kinfra authority to complete land acquisition for the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.
The review meeting was attended by the Main Secretary Mohammed Haneesh, the manager of the KINFRA center Zone T Bake, Deputy Collector Raveendranath Panikkar, Kanjikode Kinfra Park Manager Murali Krishnan, Tehsildar G Rekha, among others.
