Centenarian amount with Covid-19 tops 200 in Karnataka

Bengaluru: The Centenarian number contracting Covid-19 in Karnataka has increased from 67 in mid-April to 212 (on July 29).
Of these, 61 was tested positive in July, the highest for every month since the pandemic began.
At the end of March, there were 63 centenaria with Covid history in the state.
This figure rose to 137 by Mayand and 151 on June 30.
Eleven of 212 patients died of infection.
The case fatality rate in the 100-plus age group was 1.4 percent, in line with the total average of around 1.3 percent.
The distribution of wise cases (on July 29) showed that the mortality rate was 4 percent in groups 60-69, 6 percent at 70-79, 7.7 percent in 80-89 and 11.8 percent in 90-99 brackets.
In the under 60 group, those aged between 50 and 59 had the worst death rate (2.1 percent), followed by patients aged between 40 and 49 years (0.9 percent).
It was less than 0.1 percent among them in the age group of 0-20 and 20-29 and 0.3 percent in the 30-39 bracket.
The second pandemic to be modeled to officials, for many of the 212 Centenaria, Covid-19 was the second pandemic of their lives after the Spanish flu in 1918.
But the exact number of more than 103 years was not immediately available.
The burglary provided by the government in November 2020, when the number of people like that was only 60, indicating that there were at least 25 citizens who survived the 1918 flu as well.
Of the 60 centenarians diagnosed with Covid-19 in November last year, 22 was exactly 100 years old, 13 between 101 and 102.
The remaining 25, including several as agents 116 and 119, had witnessed two pandemics.
