Center for excellence for media technology and broadcasting to be arranged in IIT-K

Finished / Alvi Times News Kanpur: As a follow-up to the MOU signed between Prasar Bharati, Indian public service broadcasters and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), the center of excellence for media and broadcasting technology will be set at IIT-Kanpur.
After the collaboration agreement, three areas have been identified to be taken under the aegis center of excellence – directly to mobile broadcasting and convergence with 5G standards that appear, artificial intelligence and advanced algorithms for audio-visual media.
Research projects to be taken by IIT-Kanpur in these three fields utilizing funds provided by Prasar Bharati including the trial of the next generation broadcast technology (directly to cellular broadcasting, convergence with 5G) and the introduction of automatic greetings for subtitling.
It is estimated that smart phone broadcasts and cellphones can be able to flow some high-quality video / audio services optimally utilize a valuable spectrum and make it easier for the load on cellular networks.
Prasar Bharati and Iit-Kanpur will explore the development of direct broadcasting capabilities to cellular with the aim of aligning this emerging technology with global standards for 5G.
