New Delhi: Central Government on Saturday held a high-level meeting on the challenges that emerged in the case of dengue serotype-2 in 11 states.

According to the official release by the Ministry of Health and family welfare, the Secretary of the Union Health highlighted the new challenges of Serotype-II dengue in 11 countries associated with more cases and more complications of other forms of disease.
He advises countries to take steps such as early detection of cases, operationalization of fever relief channels; Stocking adequate testing kits, larvisides, and medicines; Deployment of the rapid response team for fast investigations and public health measures needed such as fever surveys, contact contacts, vector control; Warn the blood of blood to maintain blood stock and adequate blood components, especially platelets, among others.
The state is also asked to carry out information, education and communication campaigns regarding help channels, vector control methods, reducing sources at home and symptoms of dengue fever.
