Center seeks the status of the removal of an inspection post from 13 states

New Delhi: The Ministry of Transportation Road has been looking for status reports on the elimination of transportation checkpoints on the border of the state of 13 states including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West West, Bihar, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
One of the objectives of GST’s introduction is to get rid of checkpoints on the state border.
However, there were complaints that the checkpoint was still operational in several countries.
Different transporter organizations such as the All Indian Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) have raised this problem.
In communication with 13 states earlier this week, the ministry has said, “After the introduction of GST in July 2017, there is no need to have a regular transportation checkpoint on the state border.
Online data in connection with vehicles and drivers has been strengthened through the Venan and Sarathi platform.” Letters It also said that the majority of the state and UTS have eliminated their transportation checkpoints.
The AIMTC welcomed the ministry’s move to say now the inspection post is illegal.
“We hope that countries will soon follow the suit and it will end extension from the truck and transporters,” spokesman said.
